Many are troubled, worried and sorrowful for various reasons; even the rich also cry; meaning that lack and poverty is not the only source of depression. Let us not be the kinds of Christians who blames the devil or someone else for everything. Most times, we are wholly or partly responsible for the turbulence around our lives.
I agree that a prayerful attitude is very important in the life a Christian. But prayer it is not always the step to take in tackling all problems. What am trying to say is that solutions to our problems could vary. Solutions could be about examining your mind set, what you say, what you eat, what you wear, what you think, how you sleep, the manner you react to your dream & nightmares or your ability to understand and react to the physical omens around you.
The truth is, every emotional problems originates from one source called fear. Fear is the ultimate weapon the devil uses against Christians. Sin leads to fear because when Adam sinned, he became afraid and hid himself from God. But not all fears are as a result of sin. Sometimes the devil sow fear into our minds by the influence of dreams, influence of men and the quiet voice of confusion. It is like going for job interview and a negative voice is speaking to your mind that you can’t get it because you are not qualify enough. Or that voice, pointing your mind to reasons why that slight illness might be a result of you being HIV positive just because you fornicated recently. Or you have bided for a contract and you came out of a dream where you found yourself in a track field race but someone else took the medal. Or you have been praying fervently, hoping for the fruit of the womb, then a friend came telling you she had a dream of your mother in-law poking your tommy with a nail. Let us not forget that the instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right (Isa:32:7).
All reptiles crawl on their belly; you can’t actually say which of them is suffering stomach ache –meaning: all your friends are smiling at you but you don’t really know which of them truly loves you within. Many of us are like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered (Jer:11:19)
My point all the while is: sometimes we create problems for ourselves when we talk too much or open up to bad companies. Some situation do not answer to prayers. It is about appearing in the right state of mind, taking wise decisions and parting away with certain characters. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding (Proverb:4:7).
